I was assaulted last night outside my shelter while sitting in a chair using a shelter laptop with my earbuds in listening to music. It was dark outside but I was under a lighted patio, all my attention on the music and laptop. I did not see anyone. I was struck on the top of my head by a blunt object. I fell to the ground but didn't lose consciousness, the blood began squirting before I fell out of the chair onto the concrete. I never lost consciousness and it took me a minute to recover from the blow, gather my things and went back inside the shelter. The police and EMTs came, but I had no idea who struck me and my injury was not serious enough to go to the hospital. If I got a concussion, and I probably did, it was very mild. In the park next to the shelter there are often fights late at night. Four nights ago I witnessed a drive by shooting, a man with an automatic rifle outside the passenger window pointing the rifle at the people he fired at least five shots at. The car sped
This blog was created after I became homeless, following being evicted for confronting my landlord on their condoning five years of sexual assaults and harassment of no less than seven women in an apartment building. I have since begun working on a book about the evil that is American culture, a society lost to the insanity of racism and mental healthcare. My posts are usually rough drafts I then edit over the following hours and days. I was homeless from 8/6/2018 until 4/2/2021.
